Workforce Skills Training
Building a competitive workforce
Today’s manufacturers need workers that are skilled, flexible and experienced, especially in the use of technology. A May 2009 national survey by Deloitte, The Manufacturing Institute, and Oracle assessed the top drivers of their future business success, and evaluated talent shortages within the next two to three years. The report indicates an ongoing talent challenge facing manufacturing organizations and a continued need for them to embrace new and progressive talent strategies.
Advanced Manufacturing covers a wide spectrum of career opportunities from research, engineering, assembly worker, management to designer. The face of manufacturing has changed from workers who gained their skills on the job, skills that were typically only recognized at that firm; to workers who require advanced skills, training and experience.
Our region has a variety of education and training opportunities for those looking to the Advanced Manufacturing industry for a career opportunity.
